This does not include the many unreported cases from all over the world, because the stigma associated with it, causing the development of shame, guilt and despair set in.

The first symptoms of HIV infection, which develops within 3-6 weeks of exposure to HIV is similar to the flu and the person may experience a slight fever, dull headache, a sensation of severe exhaustion vomiting, episodes of diarrhea, sore throat and lymph nodes, accompanied by an eruption of the body. However, these symptoms are short-lived and disappear within a week or a month at the latest within the contact infection. Thereafter, the person feels any symptoms.

But the silent phase is asymptomatic period during which HIV is actively multiplying in the lymph nodes of the host, infecting T lymphocytes (CD4 lymphocytes) and destruction of white blood cells, which weakens the immune system completely individual . The duration of the asymptomatic phase varies from person to person and may even extend to several months to almost a decade. The count of helper T cells (CD4 lymphocytes) begins to decrease from 600 to less than 200 and the immunity of the person is drastically reduced.
